I find it weird that a religious perspective on this issue totally ignores the existence of the Amish. As the rest of us die off from disinterest in raising children the Amish become the meek who inherit the Earth.

It will be amazingly great: as children become rare they will become more precious (and the ratio of adults to children will grow) so each generation will have better care and education causing a positive feedback loop that will drive human civilization to unimaginable heights.
