Flipped the prompt and it worked

Pretty bold to go from "it uses google's knowledge graph" to "provides factual information", isn't it?

I actually laughed out loud when I read that. VC announcements always read like “This company will cure cancer with these pills that make you shit diamonds in the comfort of your AI-powered toilet”

I got a result when asking for an average price that included an ad tag-line for a the company whose landing page that number came from.

It’s not the first YC-backed company I see selling themselves hard as “the same as [popular thing you know] but better”. It feels unscrupulous to get a bunch of VC money to try to outcompete others by copying and publicly trashing them. Is YC deliberately incentivising the behaviour?

How do I take it for a spin? The launch announcement(?) contains images, video, and write up but I can’t seem to find a link to try it out.

There’s a link to “WriteSonic”, but that website doesn’t mention ChatSonic.

Looks like they should've linked to https://writesonic.com/chat

Signing up with Google is failing for me though, so I may never know how cool it is.

I faced the same issue. Turns out, you need to disable ad-blocker in order to be able to sign-up with a Google account.

It's giving me:

Same here, although I only tried with Firefox and allowing it access to some basic sites. BUT it appears to want access to a ton of sites in the background, such as tiktok etc.

Same with Chrome on Android.

Not that important, but even in their demo of "Generate an image of Messi playing in the World Cup" it generates an image with Messi in Barcelona's jersey, so playing for the club team, not the national team.

Open AI is also working on this, they call it WebGPT.
