Consumer Reports has a "TV Screen Optimizer" that aims to give users optimal picture settings by Brand/Model.

Also nice that they mention how to turn off ACR and other privacy related features as well.

Why isn't this SOP?

Yeah it's weird, the article also says that various famous folks (Zuck) are on a flagged list maintained by local police. I guess the innovation here is that anyone can opt into the list.

I wonder if such a system might ever be corrupted by someone for the purpose of slowing down police response. That is, if one gang is planning to attack another gang, could they enter the address of their target on the list, so that police don't respond as quickly (because they're taking time to verify authenticity of the 911 call) when the attack happens.

I don't know about that. Assange alludes it was Seth Rich (calls him out by name) and says:

"Whistle blowers go through significant efforts to get us materials and often significant risks. There's a 27 year old who works for the DNC that was shot in the back, murdered, just two weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington..."

Right from his mouth, not Russian propaganda - unless you're suggesting Assange himself is a Russian propagandist. It's a very interesting interview regardless.

That's exactly what is claimed about Assange; that at least in regard to the 2016 election he has acted as a willing agent of a Russian propaganda operation.
