Disappointed they don't seem to have controlled for weather. And that they use the fact that there aren't huge numbers of homeless in Detroit as "evidence" of anything other than it would be really really shitty to be homeless in Detroit.
Meanwhile temperate climates where it's decent outside year round is also hugely associated with high housing prices.

which pretty definitively say that it's only cane sugar that might be processed that way, and beet sugar is "never" processed that way.
Am I wrong to read that to say that _some_ white sugar is vegan?
EDIT: Oh, I see the confusion. I didn't mean any beet sugar was processed that way. I only meant to dispute the claim further up that white sugar is not vegan.
I'm a designer who codes in this way. I can mock out a bells and whistles prototype that appears to work splendidly enough to test with users, but in reality I'm just hooking together libraries and pasted code. I have been doing this for 10 years, enough debugging savvy to "learn" React in 2 weeks but do I actually know how any of it works on a deeper level? Heck no.
Only tangentially related, but some months back Amazon added an animation to make their user icon wave at you on page load and it makes me grimace every time. Given that I use Amazon begrudgingly while hating the company and what it stands for it feels like it's mocking me.
My cat got bartonella which caused this condition and had to have all his teeth removed. Prior to the surgery he was in absolute misery, and the only treatment was steroids that did little and aren't meant for longtime use. The surgery was several thousand dollars, out of reach for a lot of families. An effective treatment for this condition would be great!
Strangely enough it didn't, he still eats dry cat food and just crunches it with his gums a little. He is totally fine now aside from sometimes looking a little derpy with his gums
But an iPad can replace a hundred toys in terms of the amount of variety in entertainment. Just like it can replace thousands of CDs and books. If we're talking wastefulness I think it comes out ahead.
