Thanks for posting, I was sure I recalled something like this form a long time ago. I also build my self a FreeTrack headset (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeTrack) around this same time to play the Arma / Operating Flashpoint games using IR LED's attached to a hat that my webcam would track.
Yep, whisper can do that. You can also try whisperx (https://github.com/m-bain/whisperX) for a possibly better experience with aligning of subtitles to spoken words.
Try the Brave browser for YouTube. I used Jellyfin for my media library and that seemed to work fine for tv and movies.
I just got a Macbook and haven't touched my iPad Pro since, I would think I could make a change faster on a Macbook then iPad if they were both in my bag. Although I do miss the cellular data that the iPad has.
Also Capture One, they have a perpetual license but the changes they made in 2023 to the perpetual license was quite bad. Now if you buy that version, you’re locked to the version you purchased and don’t get new features.
There is Waterfox that syncs with the Firefox bookmark service. Testing it out for the last day, also looking for an option on iOS otherwise will stick with Firefox.
