did a startup -- had wrong visa class -- angry employee called CBP -- got picked up passing through JFK -- 10 year ban -- is permission to reapply actually a thing or a dead-end process? -- thanks --

It is an option but it's complicated and not easy so consult an immigration attorney.

-- this was 5+ years ago - wonder what they would change today --

https://bunnyshell.com and k8s -- seems like a good way to get going quickly with new projects --

I work at Bunnyshell, so happy to see it mentioned here. Happy to share some more details:

Bunnyshell creates two types of CDEs:

- local IDE, code running in the cloud. The cool thing here is you get to use a local IDE (any IDE/editor you want), no lag, the user edits a local files and the files are synced in real time to the cloud environment. All editing on local, all execution in the cloud. Supports debuggers.

- remote IDE, code running in the cloud. When configured in this way, both the IDE and the execution happen in the cloud. No code on local.

The CDE is just one side of Bunnyshell, the other is provisioning environments on demand or automatically (eg. ephemeral environments on each PR). All these envs support remote development (if enabledd).

Our team makes heavy use of CDEs internally for actually building the product.

-- hard to say if this will work - i know - visit - people who have not left the house in over a year - they are very genius people who never made - to Samsung or LG or other chaebol - many have gained a lot of weight or are unhappy with appearance - genius and "ugly" - depressed - in Korean culture - not good --

Just curious: why is your comment written like that? TTS?

-- yet everyone is against UBI - any version of socialism - women in the work force - robotics - want a country that has no natural resource - only technology and innovation as an export to think about number of hours in a work week as the answer - we are in trouble --

—- 36 eggs still 6,400won! —-

It's like $9 for a dozen eggs at Target in the bay area now. You can still get a good deal at Costco, but yeah, it's super expensive. What's the normal price of eggs in Korea?

I'm in the central valley and Target has a dozen eggs for $3.59. I was curious how it could be so much more in the bay area, but looking up an East Bay Target they're $3.59. San Francisco is $4.59. Maybe you haven't been in a while?

Wow, now you are making me want to drive around and double check! Distinctly remember seeing a dozen eggs for at least 8 if not $9 at target in alameda a month or two ago. Am sure all the cheaper store brand eggs had sold out and was probably looking at free range eggs. And the price could have come down since then too. And everything's expensive in alameda. Glad to hear it!

-- its normal conversation here - usually we put the reason on - 헬조선: http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell_Joseon - also - there is a big problem with a gender clash - women are learning about modern feminism - rejecting traditional system - young men are not accept it - it causing a lot of tension - more women tell me - i prefer to die alone than have traditional Korean husband - many of my Ewha ("feminist university") friend won't wear school brand clothes for fear of assault - https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Idaenam --

The problem is not korean men being traditional. The problem is korean culture where koreans take everything to the extreme. Women included.

Koreans tend to force everything by overdoing it, thinking they might change things overnight.

I knew this would be referenced :) but that's the main reason it wont work. Good things take time.

What's a "traditional Korean husband"?

-- complicated - patriarchal - more intense than many cultures - its common to hear a Korean man say - the woman needs to be in her place - or - i own my wife as i own my car --

Are South Korea and Japan similar?

Thank you!

What a terrifying read, it sounds like the mouse utopia experiment that lead to a mice hell is happening in Korea.

-- at the market next to my house - 36 eggs are 6,700 won - I think $5.50? --

-- South Korea - naver - kakao - huyndai - samsung - all hiring like crazy for developers - if you're a developer in south korea finding a job is very - very easy --

-- I asked some of my friends - why they think it's happening - they all say same thing - 헬조선: http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell_Joseon --

Yeah that's a big part of the cause. What do you think of this phenomenon? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idaenam

-- it's really a problem - big time - Yoon Suk-yeol got elected on removing 여성가족부 - Ministry of Gender Equality and Family - young korean men are angry - i know so many Ewha University students who are not wearing their school jacket outside anymore out of fear --
