IVPN does. Ars did an article on it semi recently.

Is writing it in mixed case really necessary? Really doesn’t make me want to click the link.

Great book. Great casting for the audiobook. Scott Brick is great, but Simon Vance steals the show for me. Highly recommend this to anyone that wants to get into audiobooks.

Which companies do you refer?

I am fine with other companies facing public backlash for their actions just like Facebook is now if they are doing things as shady as Facebook.

Google with YouTube and Twitter? Even though most congressional hearings are a farce, Google didn't even show up to speak with congress. The amount of racist, nazi propaganda I'm exposed to on Twitter every day far outnumbers what I've ever seen on Facebook.

Another commenter mentioned Equifax, which I agree is a good example. They have done a lot more to damage me than Facebook could hope to. (I don't have a choice about being in Equifax's database, but at least I can block the little informants on websites I visit.)

Google.

Are you implying the recent NY Times piece or this patent are not news-worthy? Or not technically relevant?

I currently pay money to Ars Technica, Wired and kottke.

I would pay money to The NY Times but the last time I did, they required me to call to cancel and it felt really shady so I won’t pay them until this is fixed and publicized.

The rest fall into 2 categories: sites that I would pay for but that are asking too much (any site asking for as much or more than NY Times is delusional) and sites that are just not worth any amount of money. For the former I sometimes feel like I am missing out on content when I hit their paywall, for the latter I just move on without feeling like I missed out on anything other than the few seconds it took to click back.

I consider any and all links that have “crypto” in their title, that refer to cryptocurrency but are otherwise ambiguous to be clickbait.

I am set to start treatment with Keytruda on Friday. I was fortunate that my tumor marker burden (TMB) was/is sufficiently high enough to get me into the clinical trial. I was equally fortunate that 1.) my oncologist is knowledgeable about all of these cutting edge therapies and 2.) my insurance will actually cover the cost.

Without the possibility of trying this my options would probably be dying slowly over the next couple of years or doing a very risky surgery that involves opening up my abdomen, cutting out as much of the disease as they can see and flooding the cavity with broad spectrum chemo (HIPEC.) Obviously, immunotherapy is much more palatable as the chemo was not pleasant.

Overall I am hopeful. I guess I don't really have a reason to post any of this, other than it helps to get it out there, so please excuse my rambling! And thanks for reading.

I know that feeling well. Best of luck to you.

My FIL has/had multiple melanoma. One of the tricks for him is his support group. They swap treatment research, good local doctors, emotional support, and when things get bad, they help out in the hospital with nurses, food-runs, etc. Please consider joining a support group. Some are better than others, so feel free to try more than one out and see which one works for you.

Oh, and Fuck Cancer.

Thank you for sharing. All the best for your treatment. :)

Godspeed

What is the best way to deal with this as an end user?

I see there is a Firefox plugin here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nofbclid/

But perhaps it is better to deal with at a lower level, like on the firewall. Any advice would be welcome.

I found a slightly better one that also blocks google UTM trackers as well, here:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/utm-tracking-...

and source here:

https://github.com/jparise/chrome-utm-stripper

I happen to already be using that one, nice to see they've added Facebook tracking removal to it as well!

Coming from Fox News where we know diverse opinions are definitely unwelcome, is this not a case of the kettle calling the pot black?

I mean one of their own talking heads was campaigning for Trump/GOP last night. So I am not sure what this is all about, and why it’s even posted. I, along with most people here are not going to click a link to foxnews.com.

If this idea has any merit, someone should post it somewhere that is not on a garbage site like foxnews, dailycaller, breitbart, etc. Because I am not going to give those sites the clicks.

And for the record I would feel the same way if it was posted on the liberal equivalents: shareblue, etc.
