my hp z210 came with 8gb ecc mem, I had I believe it's ddr3 24gb was kind of upset that the hp site said max 16gb (that's not the case) the 24gb ddr3 worked anyway. (hopefully the ram issue helps someone else) yes the mobo died a few months after so that's a downside of used equipment, but the replacement mobo was $30 + an extra $30 in case it happened again. I put a 1050 ti pci-e powered for budget gaming since I'm not made of money, works well and can multitask like crazy. I believe my e3-1270v1 3.4ghz is comparable to my old i5-2500k without the oc capability
I have a hp z210 e3-1270v1 3.4ghz, put a 1050ti mini powered by pci-e, works great for my minimal gaming needs and damn save some ram for the rest of us!
