Is this a Sybase MobiLink competitor?

I was trying to find one!

I’m going to have to give this product a try!

We don't come up against them in deals, but I do believe it can be a replacement. I heard from a customer that SAP are planning to EOL MobiLink, have you heard the same?

It would appear the woke mind virus / DEI was deeply embedded into the core of the AI.

It refused to generate images of white people.

For example:

People would ask it to generate something like a picture of a German couple in 1820 and it would spit out images of Asian and Black couples.

Pictures of the founding fathers would also include weird things like native Americans and other ethnicities.

Other historical prompts would result in the same output - no white people.

Basically the AI went woke af.

Not sure it's embedded deep into the core of AI. If that were the case, prompt injection, which is what is believed to be the cause here, would not be needed. It very well may be that such racism isn't possible to embed into the core without destroying basic functionality, which is why the racists need to add prompt injection and, in some cases, an output filter to catch things that don't conform to their narrow, racist vision for humanity.

Remember that terrible feeling you have of being the victim of racism as a white man, and recall it next time you hear somebody who's not a white man complaining about being discriminated against or bullied when it comes to their day to day life and activities like getting a job, buying a house, or just trying to live their lives.

That's called empathy. It's not a weakness, it's a virtue, whether you signal it or not. Now that you've been enlightened and seen you're actually capable of empathy, you're more woke than you were before, and less of a bully, and less of an bigoted asshole.

Is that really so terrible? Can you now live with being woke and empathic now by choice, without even suffering as much as all those other human beings who have to live with ACTUAL day-to-day racism and sexism and homophobia against them without having any choice about it?

I agree that it's a meaningful experience to have as a white person.

I don't like your suggesting that the AI model beign human-adjusted to exclude people of a certain race is not "ACTUAL" racism.

so we should solve racism by being even more racist?

Now I've experienced racism I can now be racist in the name of making people more empathetic. Don't worry you n*** this is making you better people.

Take the opposite approach.

It’s easier to calculate how much you want to save and save it upfront then the rest of the money can be spent.

Max out 401k - money never touched your bank account

Split direct deposit so a portion or multiple portions go to your investment account and/or savings account

The rest goes into checking account to pay for bills and lifestyle expenses.

Save the money up front and never let it touch the checking account!

You can start by giving yourself some buffer into your checking account and later dialing down those numbers in your direct deposit config.

It’s much easier to do it this way and not worry about every single expense line item. Just calculate how much you think you can save and never let that money touch your checking account. Evaluate every quarter and adjust the numbers at the front accordingly.

> It’s easier to calculate how much you want to save and save it upfront then the rest of the money can be spent.

Indeed! Decades ago, I adopted the "pay yourself first" principle. That is, I take 10% of every dollar that comes into my hands and stash it away into an account that never otherwise gets touched. That's my core savings and I pretend it never existed. The remaining 90% is my entire income as far as I'm concerned, and that's where budgeting (including savings) happens.

Atlanta, Georgia

Pros: No natural disasters, fairly affordable, good schools.

2-3 hour flight to the Bahamas / Caribbean.

Cons: Summer weather sucks as it is too humid and hot. No winter / snow. Proximity to beach and mountains for skiing sucks.

Cant really enjoy the outdoor weather due to the sticky humidity most time of the year.

I work while wearing costco $10 socks and have been using the same socks for 5 years.

I've made $XXYYZZ.WW while wearing these socks in 5 years.

Allow me to sell you a dozen noseclips.

Well, your license gave them permission to pretty much do anything. As nefarious as it may be, it is not illegal.

It's not really about the law either, it's just a total dick move. They could've approached the OP about being co maintainers, or simply say that it's a forked version with improvements, or whatever. No need to steal credit and impersonate the OP.

In high-school, I got suspended a number of times for playing around with the school computers and stuff lol.

We didn’t grow up with a lot of money, so I didn’t get to play with fancy systems until school.

The things that I got in trouble for in school are now the same things that I make a living on; protecting apps from younger versions of me lol.

Some colleagues asked me before “but who would be dumb enough to try and log into a sensitive system?”.

My reply would be a naive 16 year old high schooler who doesn’t realize what they are doing, or the skill set that they may harness.

I have screenshots of conversations with OP offering to co maintainers and partners.

OP actually agreed, and then blocked me on Twitter lol..

No where am I impersonating OP. I am my own person, and will never claim to be someone else.

100% authentic Brandon Owens. I’ve been an ADHD disrupter all my life, ever since I was in grade school. Why would I stop now?

Yes, MIT License allows for modification, not going around claiming you wrote all the code.

Elegant operates from within the United States of America, and we can say what we want without your approval as per the first amendment of the U.S. constitution correct?

I gave you credit, did everything you asked, kissed your butt, asked you to let me join your project.

You are just scorn over something and have decided to come to the internet and spread lies and slander our name.

It’s reassuring though to see the large majority of comments on this thread say that I didn’t do anything wrong, and tough shit on your part.

Get over it already, and work on fixing your bugs and user friction so that I can use your code directly in my project without having to rewrite it unit tests and solid design principals.

1. Burn out

2. Getting stuck on a boring project

3. Horrible culture fit

4. New exciting opportunity which consequently = more money

Sure, but a lot of poorly written spaghetti code that works is sometimes impossible to extend or add new features to without a major refactor or complete rewrite.

Currently dealing with some 13 year old objective C code for a mobile app that’s gonna require a major rewrite cause it looks like it was written by someone who should have never been writing code in the first place

There is a mathematical technique called simulated annealing.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulated_annealing

The idea is code goes through development cycles. You have the most leeway to make changes in the first few development cycles. But less and less as time goes on. And the beginning of a development cycle you can make larger changes than at the end. Between cycles the code is frozen and you never touch it unless you can prove a change is needed. And development cycles are triggered by the need to for gross functional changes or interface changes.

Good analogy. Where I am we try to follow this process for each release cycle - so big changes early, then becoming increasingly conservative as to what gets altered/added as the release date approaches.

Heh, the Bulgarian government is so corrupt that they are all probably fighting and trying to find a way to launder the previously seized BTC used in money laundering.

No doubt, I couldn't find any data on its eventual disposition other than 'we dont have it anymore.'

According to a bivol.bg (reliable investigative news), the bitcoins were sold at a private auction with the help of Deloitte and the (real) FBI in December 2017, bringing 6 billion BGN (~3 billion EUR). Apparently at a cabinet meeting the money was earmarked for procuring new fighter aircraft (the current ones are obsolete and very poorly maintained).

There was an acquisition of F-16s in 2022 for $1.3 billion, which still leaves 1.5 billion EUR from the seized money.

It's wild to think in a way they bought fighter jets with bitcoins.

That they bought fighter jets with crime, that bought bitcoins. I wonder what the money loops of corruption look like?

Thank you so much! Nice to have closure haha.

Man, should’ve waited a bit. They’d get a lot more bang for buck so to say.

Borislav lost the key

many such cases

and 9/10 companies still think a project manager is a product manager :D

I also agree. And I sometimes suspect it has something to do with abbreviation of both are the same (PM).
