I got recommended this and I will watch it today, thank you. One of the comments points out

"They’ve literally told us that the plan is to get bailed out by the taxpayers"

This reminded me of how I think what's gonna happen/ is already happening is that they become too big to fail and get bailed out and the burden/loss becomes of taxpayers

So we are kind of living in a system which is reckless about finances/stability behind businesses where the system is such that all the profits are privatized but all the losses are shared/even funded by the average person

Combine in a mix of corruption in any political party to begin with and I am wondering why we don't have yet another french revolution.

> hundreds of millions of people who are against the war

Lie #1. If they were against the war there would be no war.

> That's not very bright of you, to put it mildly.

Lie #2. He tells facts.

> "just listen how silly Ukrainian sub-language sounds, lol".

Lie #3. This is not what Russian propaganda said. They said Ukraine will not allow to speak Russian and will punish for speaking it.

> Which is an argument every sane human being finds disgusting and stupid beyond all comprehension, of course.

The language itself is not guilty, of course. It's the speakers.

Their propaganda was saying a lot of different things, including both mentioned above.

Ukrainian is magical language that is both the same as russian (so not real language of its own) and difficult to learn, so russian not being an official language is literally genocide.

You should learn what the word "literally" means, apart from the truth about Ukrainian language.

I think they are sardonically stating the russian propaganda position(s) to highlight its ridiculousness, not agreeing with it.

> Ukrainian is … the same as russian (so not real language of its own)

What… the fuck?

Just typical russian people. Imperial mindset, russian white supremacy.

A certain part of speakers - yes. A large part, no doubt, otherwise there'd be no one to fight this war.

But what about the other part?

The part that is guilty fell for the same trick that you're falling for - they perceived the whole nation as one single entity that, as they were told by the propaganda, was all Nazis, from newborns to the elderly.

We both know that was bullshit, but you keep painting all Russians in the same way the zombified part of Russians has been painting Ukrainians.

I don't think they want you to follow their behavior. They do want accountability, but for everyone below them, not for themselves.

Yes that’s what I meant. Bad parents tell you to do something else, while showing you another example. Then they remain unaccountable to their behavior as parents.

better product = inflicting more suffering while generating more revenue

You don't need flakes or some fundamental understanding for a quick start. I simply add programs that I use to configuration.nix. This covers 95% of my use cases. For everything else I use containers. This may be not the nix way, but works super reliably and without much trouble.

True. After Turing and Co, mathematical logic became almost like applied theoretical computer science.

I wouldn't say so. The first years of the largest war in Europe since WWII have shown that a leaderless EU is incapable of making important decisions crucial to its own survival, as a fallen Ukraine would have led to a divided EU where many countries would be governed by authoritarian fascist regimes, such as the one in Hungary led by Orban.

I feel like you're a bit tendentious and exaggerated in your assessments.

People don't get a say in the people's decision that they didn't elect. I thought it's pretty spot on.

I guess death threats would be next if that last prompt injection hadn't succeed. The gates of hell are effectively opened.

Most certainly, if you follow the news in politics

I think a good parallel language will be the one that takes your code written with tasks and channels, understands its logic, rewrites and compiles it in the most efficient way. I don't feel that I have to write something harder than that as a pity human.

mapping from channels to SIMD seems kind of intractable, its a kind of lifting that involves looking across the producers and the consumers.

going the other direction, making channel runtimes run SIMD, is trivial
