I am against any large scale collection of data that can be used to take away an individual's privacy or to assist a government/business/person's ability to track someone's location or residence. Its one thing to not be able to do anything about a private business collecting this information on their own volition, but its another to actually aid in its collection yourself. The more you accept and buy into this reality the faster it will accelerate out of control with opposition being not just those who stand to gain from its existence, but from useful idiots who don't understand sunk cost fallacy. The biggest hindrance in the long term happiness of the human species is the inability to reverse change. Even while we can admit a certain change is bad, we can never mitigate further change let alone put the cat back in the bag.

Privacy ship has sailed long time ago. Try to remove license plates from your car. Or refuse to share information about your health!

Now it is about gate keeping. Young people and startups, need the same ability as govs and established players. Until recently you could not even embed maps on your website (too expensive). Free data are levelling the playing field.

And if anything OpenStreetMap helps me not to share my location. I can store map of entire continent offline on my phone, and do not have to ask remote servers for navigation!

If we created a change we can un-create it. People who just accept that we are powerless to our past are the architects of our future hell.

> I can store map of entire continent offline on my phone, and do not have to ask remote servers for navigation!

The fact that you think anybody would need to have that is ridiculous. And also I can store an entire map of pretty much any place I need to go to and it doesn't require a phone.... Furthermore, maps are only necessary in over bloated cities not designed with facilitating humans as the main objective. Just because that is where most people live nonetheless does not make it any more right.

I need to store the map of the entire US locally on my phone, because often, where I want to go has no service because where I go is very, very rural. If I were to do this with paper maps it would cost me hundreds of dollars. As a bonus, I can overlay the map with USGS GIS data and see all sorts of information about where I'm going, again, stored locally on my phone. I can tell you right now in about 30 seconds what federal or state agency manages any GPS coordinate and how to get there in a car, and if I need information like that, which I do, I can get it in the middle of the grand canyon a hundred miles from the nearest cell tower.

People do need it. You're dismissing very, very powerful tools just to complain that your city isn't walkable, forgetting that some of us don't live anywhere remotely resembling a city at all. There's a whole world out here man.

They can pass info regardless. The guards are the way that most prisoners circumvent rules. Regardless, the biggest security risk is created by overpopulation and inadequate resources/ old buildings. And certain rights are more important than the increased risk of illegal activity or violence.

I can't believe parents send their kids to public schools instead of home schooling. The only benefit is childcare and socialization. And those aren't necessarily always benefits either. I mean the amount of time wasted in school is outrageous. And I don't mean wasted as in the hyper ambitious tiger mom way, I mean situations in which you are sitting in a room doing nothing or on your phone or you are taking a test to prove that you know some information.

We just accept this as normal. Nothing is less normal than a bunch of children growing up in a building sitting in chairs all day. In an environment that is strictly controlling with harsh limitations on freedom of speech, no tolerance policies for all sorts of relatively innocuous things, and a forced secularism as to ingrain in students the unimportance of spirituality, physical health, personal liberty, and nature. And lets rid ourselves of this notion this is about education, because it isn't. Every step of school is focused on obedience and preparing them for the next step so they will be able to get a job. It is the perfect way to mold a child into an obedient wage slave.

Not going to argue my point or bring up any real evidence because this guy didn't either, but Hunter Gatherers absolutely lived better lives than we do now and the amount of human beings who die to homocide or suicide is higher now than during that time period. This time period is hell, just look at suicide rates and mental illness rates. No other point in human existence has our life held as little meaning as it does now. And our biggest killer in the West happens to be a disease that has some of the worst comorbidites. Most people in the west are living their life in a inflammation, sleep deprived, vitamin defficient, hormonally disrupted brain fog.

I also don't think people realize how the suffering of lack of pleasure and of short excruciating pain like being eaten, is infinitely better than a lifetime of stress, deppression, and nihilism. Slavery to pleasure is the worst hell, and most of us are enslaved in one way or another.

p.s. False positivity doesn't do shit for your brain, it can actually cause harm. Even if it could do something good, you are basically just brainwashing yourself to have a less truthful understanding of the world. Joy is self-evident for Joyful people and doesn't require deceiptful mantras.

Never taking the vaccine and I suggest everyone else not to either. It has not gone through any of the rigorous scientific studies that any other required vaccine in modern US history had to go through. And its about time people stopped voting and started taking real action against the blatant disregard for the Constitution and the American people that this Government has. We are the ones should be holding our government accountable, and we have failed because we are too afraid of Violence. And lets be clear when a person breaks a law the police officer uses adequate force to arrest him and if he keeps resisting then it can sometimes be violent force. Its legal and righteous. People wonder why the Jewish people didn't stand and fight against Hitler when they had the chance? They were frogs in boiling water unable to know they were dead before it was too late, and right now the melting pot of our country is getting mighty warm.

Our ancestors fought and died for the rights we have given up because our refusal to go into the streets and fight. Enough talk, go out there and take back what is yours. If you tolerate injustice by refusing to take action you are the same as the one who would be applying that injustice. The only way for us to take back our rights is for everyone to fight, you want to talk about duty with vaccine? You have a duty for your countryman to stand with him to defend the rights you deserve, need, and cherish. Whether you care or not is irrelevant, because you not fighting damns everybody else who does since this War requires every human who calls themselves an American. Get your ass in the streets right now and fight. Not a figure of speech, march down your city and tear down anything and everything that infringes on your rights. And for the people who I know are thinking about the repercussions or social stigma, then fuck you. Our rights are worth every single ounce of pain and suffering a human could be inflicted with. Without Rights our Life is meaningless.

Love how media consistently ignores male struggles with body dysmorphia even though it is just as big an issue for them as for females. Just look at how many men know take steroids nowadays, and the sad part is most people aren't aware that these people are even taking steroids and think it is naturally achievable body type. I have had conversations with people who are unwilling to believe even the Rock is on something. Lets keep watching the suicide rates climb for the lost boys as we cry about the slightest affront to women. Boys are held responsible for the oppression of women, which they weren't even alive to remember, and inherent none of the privilege or benefits. Male dysmorphia is ignored or supported (i.e. big dick energy), Male on Male rape is a joke (don't drop the soap), Female on Male rape is sex (look up snl Pete Davidson & Rounda Rousey), Female on Male domestic violence doesn't exist (Duluth model), Mens rights is sexist, Male virginity is toxic (incel), Male exclusive groups or friendships are boys clubs, Male perceived sexual failure is to be mocked (cuck), Male feminity is a weakness (soy boy), and a Male's duty is to protect females.

Sick and tired of this world. Hope somebody else has the energy to fight, because I know I don't.

I'm not really onboard with everything you say, but:

> Male virginity is toxic (incel)

This is the one that gets to me the most.

Being involutary celibate, or even just having a dry run for a long time, is kind of like hell for a man. I'm not sure if women are capable of just appreciating how painful it is (judging by comments I read on line, they think it's a joke). Even men who have regular sex don't understand it, or quickly forget what it was like.

> Male feminity is a weakness (soy boy), and a Male's duty is to protect females.

These are not bad things. Male's duty is to protect. Not females as a class: the females and children in your family (wife, sister, mother).

In fact, this is the thing that gives meaning to your life. If you're not capable of protecting your family, what are you good for? I'm not saying this as an attack. I'm saying that this is the internal voice in every man's head.

First of all, there's plenty of whores if you think sex is a human right. Prostitution is the oldest profession. If we normalize sex work, people can meet demand without getting shamed. Who's trying to do that? Mostly feminists if you ask me.

They say one thing and do the other. For example: In many feminist countries being a prostitute is legal but soliciting a prostitute isn't. Its meant to protect prostitutes which I 100% understand, but it is a double standard that stigmatizes the use of prostitution while also putting those who utilize it in real danger. I am not arguing for legalized prostitution, and I do not think anybody has the right to sex, however I think that it is wrong to shame and humiliate somebody for a lack of sexual success.

It's absurd how much people deny PED [1] use. It's pervasive and an open secret in basically any context where men are shirtless: actors, models, MMA fighters, bodybuilders, etc. Even law enforcement and firefighters.

The closest someone like The Rock gets to admitting using them starts with "one time in college...". When even his use is a debate, good luck convincing someone that a slightly smaller actor gaining 25 lbs of muscle in a few months isn't normal. As they happily tell you in interviews, gaining muscle like that is just a matter of working out 6 hours a day and only eating broccoli, chicken, and rice.

1. "Steroids" isn't very accurate. Other things like HGH and SARMs are common, and steroids these days would often be called "testosterone replacement".

Yep, it' sad we (as a society) have left boys behind, and advocating for them makes you a target of feminists, a sexist and many other nasty words.

I don't want to argue that these aren't real problems, but I don't think they're universal, and there are settings where people aren't out to insult and attack one another.

Additionally, if you can become part of a supportive social circle it is much easier to have an attitude like: "There's a lot of trouble in the world, but lets enjoy life where we can and be kind to one another while pushing for positive change where possible."

Some things are just beyond what Humans will ever understand in my opinion. Consciousness is one of those things. A computer that is able to understand itself completely would be infinitely powerful since its understanding would be recursive over each new understanding state.

Nah, it would be limited by its stack size ;)

From my understanding it is almost certainly a lost cause at this point. I am not a scientist so I do not know for certain, but from what I have read at this stage even if we halt greenhouse gas emissions to zero it still won't be enough to stop the drastic changes to the Earth caused by high CO2 levels. We would have to actively removing CO2 to have any sort of chance at preventing the worse problems associated with Global Warming. Not to mention the amount of other pollutants we have released such as plastic/ microplastic that have been and continue to, disturb the ecosystem of our planet.

“Lost cause” makes it seem as if nothing we can do will help. But that isn’t true. There is a lot we could do that will make the world of 2100 and 2200 better than if we continue doing things as we’ve done them.

The real problem is that politicians are unwilling to act. But there’s no shortage of action we could take.

Human beings have been going down this path since the start of civilization. Human beings have been acting like this since we have had hierarchies of power and wealth. For us to solve the climate issue would require us as a species to do a complete 180. At that point we won't even be human anymore, which is why I say it is a lot cause. I assume the criteria for a solution to climate change has always included our survival as a species, but if it doesn't then I agree with the idea that it isn't a lost cause.

There's a scale to the catastrophe that's coming, and that's still within our control.

The reason I am annoyed about a vaccine mandate is that I take care of my health. I eat healthy, exercise regularly, don't do drink or take any illegal drugs, and have been consistently taking vitamin D everyday for the last 3+ years.

These are all things that everybody should be encouraged to do, but the government has not been putting in almost any concentrated effort to encourage people to do these things at all. Then when Covid starts spreading and mostly killing unhealthy people I should be the one risking my health, taking a vaccine that is way less tested than any other FDA approved vaccine, to help the people who practice unhealthy lives and are the ones most at risk of dying from Covid?

I am 19 years old and had to stay inside for the last 1.5 years for a virus that I am not afraid of and almost certainly would not kill me if I were to contract it. My mental health has been deteriorating for the whole quarantine, years of my youth are being taken away because of something that simply doesn't affect me. Unhealthy old people have screwed my life up and taken years away from me so if they expect me to take a knee to help them then they can go to hell. You lock people in doors for years of their life make them wear masks everywhere in public and now are gonna make me stick a needle up my arm so I can keep my job? Go to hell, I rather die than be yanked around like this to appease people who don't care about me and a government who treats me like shit and insults me. And their is still no timeframe for when this bullshit will be over.

To be fair, the United States is also one of the only countries with birth right citizenship.
