Wait -your angle is that covid vaccination increased people‘s acceptance of injectable pharmaceutics and covid / its vaccine was made up (or blown out of proportion) so people would get more ozempic?

No. Not my angle. That is exactly what happened.

Injections are no longer a only-if-absolutely-necessary. The stigma is mitigated.

Flu shots were accepted as a routine thing long before 2020. I don't think the stigma existed in the way you're imagining.

Accepted? By who? You’ve misread the room

Don‘t ask, it‘s just schizophrenia, makes no sense at all and is depressing, unsatisfying and just keeps on going.

What’s extra terrible is people being harassed in a ny organized fashion are now easily written off as crazies.

Well… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBay_stalking_scandal

This is "fake stupidity", a decoy to make the public think it is uncovering stuff that was meant to be hidden while in reality the really damning documents have been filtered and or doctored already. You might get thrown some meaningless and practically worthless + innocent scraps and bones like Trump wrapping his arm around a young woman and that‘s it.

You think you uncovered the hidden layer but that was just a decoy.

You guys are too gullible.

Well, they wouldn't go for the trillion dollar wale addresses.

They would hack random, long unused, dead addresses holding 5 figure amounts and slowly convert those to money. They would eventually start to significantly lower the value and eventually crash bitcoin if too greedy, but could get filthy rich.

Cloud providers will love it when we will need to buy more compute and memory for post quantum TSL.

The real universe might be different and far more complex than our simulated reality. Maybe a species that can freely move within 4 or 5 dimensions is simulating our 3D + uni directional time reality just like we „simulate“ reality with Sim City and Sims.

but then we don't have a universe simulating itself, but simulating a low-fi imitation

It‘s clearly manipulated/curated, you can tell my some absolutely shitty content with zero comments and zero engagement ending up and staying on the frontpage for quite a while.

I've been here for a while and that's not a pattern that I recognize, could you point out a few examples? I am fairly sure the mods would love to hear about this as well.

It doesn't look like shit content, but:

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46310650

posted an hour ago with 4 measly upvotes among other threads with hundreds of upvotes on spot 10?

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=46311092

4 upvotes in 26 comments, also on spot 10 after refresh?

Still zero comments for both! If all you need to end up in the top 10 is 4 upvotes within 30 minutes I could start selling hacker news front page placements right here, right now.

Is the value of an upvote karma based? Is the ranking view based? Are view by high karma accounts worth more? In any case, those two posts are pretty sketchy. No one cares enough to comment on them and they are still on the frontpage.

It’s always amusing to see a topic that’s so esoteric no one can toss off low effort drive by comment on it. Let alone have insightful input on the subject.

I’d believe it’s the mods juicing it by hand, but perhaps there’s an algorithm filtering for subject distance from the core hn oeuvre?

It‘s awful and often creates a blurry mess in the imaginated space behind the object.

Photoshop content aware fill could do equally or better many years ago.

Early AI „everything turns into dog heads“ vibes. Beautiful.

I miss those. Anyone know if it's still possible to get the models etc. needed to generate them?

Google was using them as wall mural artwork in one of the Sunnyvale offices. Very trippy.

All this work to recreate a WinAmp viz from 20 years ago :) ?

I also wanted to generate one of those this year, so I'll camp around here just in case anybody comments on it :)

> Norwegian PNs have your birth date

Same with Austrian social security numbers, which, in somes cases, don't contain the persons birth date and in some cases don't contain any existing date at all.

Yet many websites enforce a valid date and pull the persons birthdate from it...
