You just gave me an idea. I have a “modern” Samsung Tv with the 8 button or whatever remote. Always a pain to change source.

I think I could get a proper aftermarket Samsung remote for their older models with 100 buttons and not have to use the menus as much.

Ez pass billing is all over the place, each state/authority does whatever it wants.

If you reg a secondary car’s plate to an ezpass account without using the transponder, a lot of states will just think it was a read fail and charge you the regular rate but it depends.

The less honest states (New Jersey, probably others) will charge you a punitive fee (which doubles if you don't pay on time) for not having an EZpass on that vehicle. And then when you call customer support they'll argue with you, until you call on the last day when they finally agree that everything was good and proper.

Copper isn’t exactly cheap and gold definitely isn’t either, so you’d still expect those mines to ramp up production along with the associated silver.

When copper or gold are cheap that’s when you wouldn’t expect those mines to step up to the plate just to address silver demand.

The silver output is very unpredictable. They’re targeting areas with high concentrations of the metals they’re after, and any silver extracted during that activity is incidental. It’s not as simple as “just increase production”.

And for some aircraft, the only thing stopping you from legally switching to automotive gas is writing a cheque for a certificate.

I thought ethanol was cheaper than gas. And the octane boost means the gas doesn’t need as pricy refining, especially in summer when you can’t load it up with butane.

+ the decreased fuel economy gets people to the stations more often where the high margin stuff is sold.

And if the US can convince the world to include ethanol in fuel, that helps if you’re the biggest corn grower on the planet. Even Canada imports about half of its ethanol (almost entirely from USA), with some of the domestic ethanol production using US corn.

> Ethyl alcohol pulls water from the air and dilutes itself over time.

How much of a problem is this for people that don’t store their gasoline in open containers?

Like, I get that many containers aren’t 100% sealed to avoid bursting/collapsing, but I don’t get any whiffs of gas when walking by my plastic Jerry cans.

Sadly over the past year, Spotify builds require AVX extensions. Had an issue updating my 2008 Dell semi-upgraded bench PC that has a Q9300 in it (no AVX on it)

But thankfully I could install an old bin and lock it out from updating.

Intel’s software development emulator might run the newest bin but variable how slow it might be.

In other circumstances, the AVX extensions aren’t required but the app is compiled to fail if they’re not required: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/pix02j/hotfix_for...

I’d like to see the calculation of the reduction you get in roadway throughput by making the vehicles larger.

If people stay further away from tractor trailers, they’ll stay further away from SUVs too.

Even in an urban environment, if you stop X feet of distance from the back of the vehicle in front, if that vehicle is longer…

Anyways, street parking should be paid by the square foot * 1.25 to account for getting in/out/around parked vehicles.

Reminds me of when a newspaper I subscribed to went from no-paywall to a soft paywall.

When I called to cancel and gave my reason as the paywall, they were very confused, but I knew what I was doing.
